TESTIMONIALS
We Believe
Being that Netzer is a movement and a prayer toward our singular identity in Christ as one Church, the aim is not to highlight our theological differences. The rich nuances and apparent tensions between theological perspectives within the Church help stretch us to each explore the Scriptures again and to experience Christ in new ways.
-
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
-
…the Bible, the Christian canon of 66 books that comprise the Old and New Testaments, being true and wise, God-breathed, the very words of God, penned by human hands and inspired by the Holy Spirit, as the faithful witness of who God is, and as such, authoritative for doctrine, practice and life.
-
…the Creator of the cosmos, who has revealed Himself to exist co-eternally and co-equally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
…the forever reigning fully divine and fully human person of Jesus Christ, God in flesh, who is the long-awaited promised Messiah, perfect Savior of the world, conquering King and sovereign Lord over all, who was physically born of the virgin, lived on the earth, died on a cross in our place, bodily rose from the dead and ascended back to His Father to restore creation to Himself. We also believe in His imminent return, a bodily resurrection, a coming judgment, and a future kingdom of Christ established once and for all.
It is the belief of Netzer that the above theological commitments are essential in maintaining an understanding of God that is both accurate and historically consistent. The Family and the Church serve as two central relational containers, instituted by God, responsible to hold, practice, embody, guard, nurture, teach and reproduce these essential theological commitments and all that they represent. These relational containers are expressed in covenant. A covenant is an agreement between two parties that establishes a deep, unified relationship, often expressed in commitments and responsibilities. A Divine covenant is special, God ordained, sacred, and eternal.
-
…as being instituted by God for the goodness of one woman and one man joined together in covenant for a lifetime. We believe sex to be both a covenantal symbol and gift from God only to be engaged within this relationship of marriage.
-
… with God is intrinsically linked to a covenantal relationship with God’s family, the Church; water baptism and the Lord’s table are essential practices of the Church instituted by God to generationally teach, protect and maintain the identity, health and functionality of the Church.

INTERCESSORS - Netzer is incredibly blessed to have a faithful, core group of women and men who meet and pray regularly for our ministry and the regional church. We would not be where we are today without the prayerful support, discernment, and direction from our intercessory prayer team.
